What is it that enters the eyes and sees?
... the ears and hears?
... the nose and smells?
... the tongue and tastes?
... the body and feels?
What is it that enters the mind and *thinks*?

Myriad shapes and colors are perceived by this mind.
When turning one's attention back on the mind that perceives, what form can it be said to have?

I don't know myself. I don't even understand the means by which I don't know myself.
This is what I wish to fully clarify.

In understanding myself, I seek to understand all others.

My favorite religious tradition is Zen Buddhism and Buddhism in general.
Zen in particular because it kicks out all the dogma and doctrine of religion.

What I'm fond of:
Hwadu/Koan practice. Hiking. Being outdoors. Reading. Sitting meditation.

I lived in the monastic community for a couple of years but had always found myself longing to meet a like-minded practitioner with a similar inclination towards the path.
I imagine in some capacity my life will always be connected to monasticism. But I see now that it isn't entirely necessary to be a monk or to abandon the life of a householder.
